School starts

 School started on Tuesday, August 26 for our public school attendees, which is only half of our children now. Miriam is a sophomore at Bonneville High School, and Winnie is an 8th grader at Praxium Mastery Academy. Both are involved in band (Miriam on percussion; Winnie on tuba). Miriam is taking a full load of dual credit courses in order to earn her associate's degree in high school. Winnie is taking geometry, which is usually a sophomore-level class (freshman-level if you're on the accelerated schedule). 

Miriam has to be very strong to haul her backpack around. I honestly don't know how a kid can have so much stuff to haul back and forth, let alone at the first day of school.

Nathan and Rebekah are in Delaware where Nathan is completing the final semesters of his master's in percussion performance. Rebekah is taking a year off of BYU-I and her bachelor's degree so Nathan can finish his schooling. Rebekah worked long and hard to find a job, but now she's gainfully employed as an adviser to high school students (many of them first-generation college hopefuls) as they work on completing applications and searching for scholarships.

Ana moved up to Rexburg for her first semester of college at BYU-Idaho on Friday, September 12. She's majoring in English (with a cluster in professional writing and editing) and starting college as a junior because of her associate's degree earned in tandem with her high school diploma. She got a job (ahem, thank you nepotism) as a TA for Seth's aunt Anne who teaches in the English department. Along with her English and religion classes, she also took a group organ class.
