Dance recital

This year we had three girls take dance, which means the Grover household was teeming with costumes, makeup and intricate hair designs on the day of their recital: Friday, May 18.

Winnie learns to ride a bike

Winnie has wanted to learn to ride without training wheels since the moment she turned 5 last fall. But because the weather hinders bike riding starting around that time, we waited until spring to introduce her to riding with two wheels. On Saturday, April 21, she experience her first lessons from Seth and me.

Since this time, she has mastered balance and only needs to continue working on starting off and tight turns.

Earth Day program

The 2nd grade puts together a Lorax play for Earth Day, so we got to go to the school and watch Miriam recite two parts and sing with her classmates on Friday, April 20.

 Miriam (along with everyone else) was assigned one part to recite, but one of her classmates knew he would be gone that day, so Miriam memorized his part as well.

Miriam borrowed Analee's Lorax doll so it could decorate the stage (see the whole group photo above). Miriam shows it to Winnie following the program.

Piano recital

Rebekah and Analee have continued their piano lessons this year, and both got to show their skills during their recital Sunday, April 8.

Miriam's baptism

Practically since Analee's baptism three years ago, Miriam hasn't been able to contain her excitement for turning eight and being baptized. That day finally came on Saturday, April 7. Since Seth is 2nd counselor our bishopric, he got to introduce her in the short meeting that proceeds the baptism.

Bennet and Miriam. Since Bennet and Miriam are only two weeks apart in age, we made arrangements for the two of them to be baptized at the same time.

Grandma Susan, Uncle Justin, Rebekah, Uncle Jim, Mack, Tav, Grandma Hendricks and Sharon Stucki (Miriam's Primary teacher) also headed to the font. 

Seth baptized Miriam while Bennet and Uncle T watched from the step, then Seth and Miriam moved aside so Uncle T could baptize Bennet while they watched. It was a neat experience for these two cousins to have their special day together.

Easter

Our Easter was quite low-key this year. We watched General Conference together (while I braided ribbons into the girls' hair), then went to Grandma Scott's for dinner and an Easter egg hunt.
