End of year for Miriam

Next up, Miriam.

Monday, April 10: Dinner show

Miriam performs "No Excuses," a cha cha, at the ballroom dinner show fundraiser at the Bonneville gym. The kids sold tickets, and people could come eat food and watch the dancers perform.

Miriam and the other Stinger girls perform "No Excuses."

Miriam does the sprinkler during "Everybody Talks," a swing.

Sunday, April 16: Piano recital

Miriam plays "Blue," "Roundup" and "Humoresque" during her piano recital in the St. Leon Relief Society room.

Thursday, April 27: Symphonic band festival

Miriam and the rest of the Rocky Mountain Middle School combined concert and symphonic band perform for judges during a regional festival at Madison High School. Andrea picked up Grandma Hendricks so she could see the performance as well. Grandma was very impressed with the level of performance from middle schoolers.

Wednesday, May 24: End of year show

Miriam performs "No Excuses" at the end of year show at the Colonial Theater. The show was scheduled to be performed at the Civic Auditorium, but a massive rainstorm the day before left the basement of the Civic flooded. Gratefully they were able to switch venues at the last minute.

Miriam performs "Don't Stop Me Now," a swing, with the Stingers and BHS Green Team.

Emoting. :-)

Miriam hugs her coach Javie after receiving the "Spirit of Ballroom" team for the Stinger team.
The award came in the form of a sweatshirt. Interspersed between dances, the teams were given awards and the seniors were recognized.

Monday, April 10: Band concert

Miriam plays cowbell and sings backup as Seth sings "Tacky" with the Rocky Mountain Middle School jazz band at their end of year concert. The concert was variety show-themed, and every variety show needs a special guest. Miriam recommended Weird Al, and Seth graciously agreed to dress up and perform as the musician.

Miriam and the other percussionists play "Fresh Trash" while dressed up as Weird Al. Seth (Weird Al) supposedly stepped through a copy machine, and all these little Weird Als popped out.

Miriam and the other percussionists sway to the music while playing "Bohemian Rhapsody" at their concert.

Miriam performs with the all the Rocky Mountain band members in their grand finale, "Baba Yetu."

Friday, May 26: Praxium projects

Miriam's project portraying lookism or beauty bias. Miriam was supposed to display and explain these projects the same night as the ballroom end of year show, but between rehearsals and the performance, she ran out of time. Instead, her projects got displayed with Miriam's representation.

Miriam's Life: The Rise and Fall project. She and her partner Connor Seaver had to pick two different animals and create a hybrid that included traits from both. This is Fenkiy the feraye, a combination of a ferret and an aye-aye. His poor leg broke on the way home.
