Temple open house day trip

 It's not often that you can drive a couple of hours to Utah and attend not one, but TWO temple open houses. Ana stayed home because she had Seussical rehearsals, but the rest of us were able to drive down on Saturday, April 27 and go through first the Taylorsville Temple and then the Layton Temple. It was interesting to note the differences between the two open houses. The first was very much less formal. You didn't have specific groups to go through with, they didn't instruct you to stay quiet. In the celestial room, people were lounging on the couches and even opening the drawers on the wooden furniture to check them out. At the second open house, missionaries gave an introduction to the open house, then at three different locations in the temple, volunteers explained the purpose of the rooms and testified. Note to self: If I'm ever in charge of a temple open house (haha), structure it like Layton's and not like Taylorsville's.

We were extremely careful to give ourselves plenty of time to get home for a gig Rebekah had that night. Before a performance of The Drowsy Chaperone, she and others performed dixieland jazz.

Dressing the part. She borrowed a flapper dress from the BHS ballroom manager and wore that with some Christmas garlands (pearls). Ana did her makeup; I attempted finger waves for her hair.
