Monument/YW camp

This year's Young Women camp was momentous for a number of reasons: (1) It was Rebekah's first time at Darby. (The camp was under construction her first year at stake camp, so we went to Pasa la coma.) (2) It was Ana's first time at stake camp is any form. (She and Rebekah were supposed to go to stake camp in 2020, but COVID put a stop to that.) (3) It was Miriam's first time at YW camp. (4) It was the first (and probably only) time all three girls would be at camp together.

Unfortunately, the girls couldn't stay at camp for the entire week. We had scheduled our Scott family reunion around the camp dates we were given initially, but then those dates changed. At that point, we couldn't reschedule our reunion, so the girls had to leave early.

Seth was in Washington, D.C. for work, so it was up to me to pick up the girls from Darby. Winnie got to accompany me so she wasn't home alone. And since we were in the canyon anyway, she and I hiked to the Wind Cave before getting her sisters.

The message Ana left for us on the van. She also hiked to the Wind Cave that day with a group of girls from the stake. Their group left after us, so we saw them on our way down.

Then we drove in to camp and waited for Rebekah and her group to get back from hiking Tablerock.

Winnie and Miriam at the ward's site. Normally I wouldn't bring my 9-year-old to camp, but I didn't really have a choice. And I had no way of knowing when Rebekah's group would be back (and there's no cell reception up there anyway), so we just had to hang out.

The three girls at camp. Poor Rebekah was tired, sunburnt and sore after going on the longest and most strenuous hike offered at camp. She was also iron deficient at the time, so that made hiking more difficult.
