Civic show

We got to watch both Ana and Miriam perform during the Eastern Idaho Ballroom Showcase at the Civic Auditorium on Saturday, January 21. There were two performances: a 5 p.m. show that included all the young ballroom teams, and a 7 p.m. show that included all the older teams. Ana helped with the Mini Bees performances during the early show (not pictured). The Mini Bees are two teams made up of elementary-aged children from the area. The high school team helps with their practices and performances (there are many more girls than boys in the class, so the high school kids are often partners to the young ones) as a fund raiser. The entire family and both sets of grandparents were able to come to the later show that featured both our dancers.

Ana performs "Hold My Hand," a Viennese waltz, with the varsity cabaret team.

Ana performs "Higher," a cha cha, with the gold show team.

Miriam performs "No Excuses," a cha cha, with the Stingers team.

Ana performs "I Need You," a lindy, with the whole BHS ballroom team.

All the BHS ballroom kids crowd around Terri Guymon, the manager of the teams. She had just been gifted a new serger onstage. Terri sews and alters many of the costumes, and she had been using one used serger after another as they wore out.
