Other Christmas break festivities

The Hendricks family Christmas party was held the day after Christmas, which turned out to be a blessing since it gave a chance for road crews to plow after our big Christmas Eve snowstorm. We had a delicious lunch followed by the traditional live nativity.

Rebekah played the innkeeper and a shepherd. Analee was a wise woman. Miriam and Winnie were sheep.

Then Grandma and Grandpa Hendricks shared stories about presents they received as children.

Children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gathered around to listen to their stories.

Grandpa told about the baseball his mom made from a cork, yarn and a leather glove and the baseball bat his dad made from a log.

Then the kids bashed a couple of piñatas.

Both Rebekah and Analee spent a morning learning to sew a bag with Grandma Scott. She had given them the pattern, fabric and an IOU for a sewing lesson as a Christmas present.

And Seth took Bekah duck hunting during the break. Bekah killed one duck (Seth killed another) and they brought them home to eat.
